Games & entertainment

I have released 8 gaming and entertainment based titles within desktop, web, and mobile platforms. While working in this this space I have collaborated and led the design and development of 3D/2D assets, UI/UX design, level design, and gameplay design.

I have leveraged gamification outside of gaming, bringing in their engagement potential into education, and promotional marketing media.

3D Modeling and Texturing

I have created 3D models, UV maps, and Textures for desktop, web, and mobile products. I have also made documented pipelines for these assets that were leveraged internally and for outsource to scale up production. On "Dungeon Keeper: Mobile" I created the pipeline spec for creating the dungeon tiles so every asset would be modular and layer correctly. I also set up asset spec guides for performance, and progression guides for how each of the assets can be altered to show increased strength and presence.

Level Design

On "Wrath of Heroes" and "Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning" I worked closely with gameplay design to develop combat arenas for PvP and PvPvE content. I created arena layouts, set up game lighting, worked on symmetrical pathing times, responded to internal gameplay testing, and iterated on line of sight and forcing user combat throughout the levels.

Gameplay UI Design

I also worked on the UI for these projects. I built icons, button and window components, as well as full screen interface assets for these games. I was also responsible for building the layout and UI graphics for the HUDs of "Wrath of Heroes" and "Dungeon Keeper: Mobile".

Promotional and Educational Use

While at USA TODAY, I made a series of game based promotional experiences for mobile devices. "Couchketball" was an AR  web exclusive promotion for USA TODAY SPORTS' March Madness coverage, bringing gamification to their social media presence. I also used gamification within education, featuring an educational game about practicing social distancing during the initial surge of the COVID pandemic, which was recognized by our parent company, Gannett with the "Best of Gannett 2020 Innovation Award". 

Promotional Graphic Design

While working on these projects, I also produced graphics for promotional material, like updating the look of the website for Ultima online, and social media graphics to promote engagement with these projects.
